After six and a half years, OLLI Connects is expanding its weekly blog into a monthly magazine. We are moving away from a subscription model and opening up our content to every member of OLLI-USF. Just as OLLILife appears in your IN Box on the first of each month, OLLI Connects will arrive on the 15th, bringing the creative side of OLLI members: stories, poetry, memoirs, articles, commentary, reprints of some of our timeless features and other explorations of life. Plus, we’re a platform for you to share your own creative writing or analysis and engage via comments on the current issue.
Our new model will accommodate long stories, book excerpts, commentary, artwork and photography and even poetry, all in a single monthly magazine. In addition, we have access to political cartoons. Yes, you read that right! Diane Henrikson Russell has graciously agreed to share her father’s substantial archive of cartoons produced over a lifetime, during which he caricatured war, depression, unrest, scientific achievement and a host of other events. And since history repeats itself, his personal viewpoint will surely be relevant to the political and social rollercoaster of our times.
OLLI Connects is about OLLI-USF members sharing stories and building connections with one another. We invite you to send us your ideas, your creative work, your memories and your travel adventures at connectsolli25@gmail.com.
