As a regular reader of OLLI Connects, you know that our front page is normally just a teaser to take you to the actual story of the week. Not this time. The OLLI Connects that you’ve come to know ends with this issue, and a new version will begin in 2025.
How will it be different? Well, our plan is to publish monthly on the 15th. Each issue will be longer than the current OLLI Connects, and we hope to blend more types of creativity–a story and a political commentary, or a poem, a memoir and a photo essay–into each issue. Thanks to Diane Russell and her artist father, every issue will feature a classic cartoon with the story behind it. OLLI members are great readers, so we’re also hoping for some intriguing book reviews. And we’d like to see some provocative “letters to the Editor”.
The design and the delivery method will change, too. We’d tell you more, but we’re still working on that. We’ll be under construction during early January, so don’t be surprised if you drop by and find a drop cloth on the floor and masking tape all over the place. Try not to step into anything sticky.
Before we gallop into 2025, we want to give you a chance to relive some of our highlights from 2024. Theresa’s graphics have pushed WordPress’ ability to adapt its display to any device a bit past its limits, and we recommend setting your phone aside and viewing it on your desktop or your tablet flipped over to landscape view. So, as always…
